Angela Velloso

She studies Popular Music Performance at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), where she achieved first place in the highly competitive 2016 admissions. In 2019, she completed an international exchange program in Jazz and Popular Music in Mannheim, Germany—the same year she released her debut solo album, Reisen (available on all streaming platforms). In 2021, she performed at the acclaimed ‘Festival de Jazz do Capão’ fronting the ‘Angela Velloso Quartet’ and collaborated with the group Jacarandá to record ‘Queda D’água,’ an arrangement that won the prestigious XIX Educadora FM Music Festival. In 2022, she took the stage at the Garcia D’ávila Festival with her Quartet.

Currently, Angela continues to drive her solo career forward, recording her second original album alongside various side projects. Today, she is a core member of Banda Terráquea and serves as a dedicated instructor of Vocal Coaching and Music Theory.

Angela Velloso grew up surrounded by music, a natural result of the daily life of her father, the acoustic guitarist, arranger, and songwriter Duarte Velloso. She has been singing and songwriting since childhood, winning awards for Best Original Composition and Best Vocal Performance at school festivals, which quickly propelled her into her first professional shows in the city of Salvador.
